National Day of Truth and Reconciliation Statement

September 30, 2021

WIL Employment Connections will be recognizing September 30th as a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We stand in solidarity with Indigenous leaders in calling for all of Canada to learn about and reflect upon the tragedy of residential schools on this day. We also stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities in recognizing that one day is just one step in a long journey ahead. On September 30th, we grieve, we learn and more importantly we reflect on how we can act more justly, more respectfully and more truthfully on a more active path of reconciliation and healing in our work and personal lives every day forward. We will take our learnings and reflections on this day and work together across our organization to help advance action in peaceful and committed solidarity as we respect that all non-Indigenous persons are newcomers to this land.

Sincerely,

Tyler Kelly
