Immploy Job Match provides employers across Southwestern Ontario coordinated access to qualified Canadian immigrant talent. Immploy Mentorship programs bring together immigrant talent with volunteer mentors at regional companies. The new Immploy Employer Engagement project will address systemic gaps in employer practices relating to the attraction, recruitment and retention of immigrant talent.
Immploy is a partnership project of WIL Employment Connections, a not for profit organization that drives innovative employment solutions to bring immigrants and employers together. Through WIL, Immploy is currently inviting applications for the following position:
Job Posting: Immploy Project Manager
Reporting to the Executive Director of WIL Employment Connections with collaborative accountabilities to the Immploy Leadership Council, the Immploy Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of the newly-funded Employer Engagement project.
The Immploy Employer Engagement Project will provide London and Southwestern Ontario employers with the training and supports necessary to hire and retain immigrants and refugees. Project activities will focus on employer consultation and employer education (online and in person) to strengthen immigrant workplace integration in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Hold one-on-one and small group meetings (online or in person) at regional workplaces, business networks and professional associations to identify best practices in and/or barriers to recruiting/hiring and retaining immigrant talent;
- Coach employers on opportunities to address systemic inequities in recruitment and retention practices including facilitating conversations surrounding unconscious bias, racism and discrimination;
- Document key transferable skills, company culture and emerging labour market demands of participating companies;
- Produce annual report on findings for distribution to immigrant job seekers, employers and community stakeholders;
- Develop and deliver online training content on regional newcomer recruitment and retention resources available to support employers in immigrant hiring and retention;
- Engage employers actively across the Southwestern Ontario regional business community as champions of immigrant talent;
- Convene, coordinate and manage the Immploy Leadership Council of employers in advancing demand-driven strategies to strengthen employment outcomes for immigrant job seekers;
- Provide operational support to the Immploy Leadership Council in the development and execution of its strategic plan;
- Develop and use marketing and communication resources, including social media and web-based content, to connect employers and immigrant talent with Immploy programs and services;
- Manage and effectively lead a community-based partnership project including maintaining, negotiating and cultivating program partnership agreements and collaborations;
- Act as coordinating liaison between all Immploy programs and planning bodies;
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the goals, targets and mandate of all program-funding agreements related to Immploy;
- Identify gaps and priorities in immigrant talent attraction, selection and retention in Southwestern Ontario region;
- Develop and deliver strategies and programs to bridge the gap between labour market demand and immigrant talent supply;
- Develop and deliver qualitative and quantitative reports required by funders and stakeholders;
- Oversee in cooperation with the Accounting Manager the budget, cash flow and capital assets of Immploy;
- Actively engage in ongoing fund development to support, advance or develop existing and new Immploy programs and services;
- Coordinate third party evaluations on all Immploy programs and services;
- Actively participate in reciprocal information sharing and exchange with other Immigrant Employment Councils and mentoring initiatives across Canada; and
- Collaborate with WIL Employment Connections leadership, teams, projects, partnerships and programs in support of the WIL strategic plan and in upholding the mission, vision and values of WIL.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies and Minimum Requirements:
- Related post-secondary education;
- A minimum of 3 years project management experience, with preferred experience in the not-for-profit employment and training sector:
- Proven experience with immigrant employment issues;
- Experience facilitating training on diversity, equity and inclusion with multiple stakeholder groups;
- Proven experience writing training content for in person and online sessions for a business/employer audience;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including group facilitation and presentation skills;
- Proven proposal writing skills;
- Demonstrated people management skills including success in managing, motivating and mentoring team members to achieve goals and desired outcomes;
- Proven experience working with employers from a variety of sectors;
- Proven experience working with governance and community planning tables;
- Ability to conduct outreach and service delivery in an online environment;
- Ability to successfully engage with all levels of government agencies (Federal, Provincial, and Municipal) for the purpose of increasing benefits to meeting organizational strategies;
- Knowledge of the Southwestern Ontario region business community and labour market;
- Well developed issues-management, problem solving, sound judgement and decision making skills;
- Community-minded individual with well developed networking skills including the ability to create, develop/maintain and build relationships with funders, other community groups, and regional/national employers;
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting and translating initiatives into operational plans;
- Ability to create, manage, and conclude project scope by analyzing constraints, scheduling and budgeting strategies and objectives;
- Demonstrated ability to manage a number of initiatives and projects simultaneously and set priorities effectively to meet established deadlines;
- Forward-thinking to ensure progressive growth in funding and organizational strategies;
- Proven track record in delivering results;
- Well-rounded personality with an emphasis on self-learning, positive attitude, and enthusiasm;
- Access to a vehicle for remote meetings; and
- Vulnerable police check is required.
